  Abstract

The study reported in this paper aims to synthesise some new curcumin as a neutral dyes containing sulfonamide derivatives developing new eco-friendly dyes have good fatness properties, evaluating their biological activity. Modification of curcumin structure having antimicrobial acid dyeing silk fabric was created. This modification of curcumin dye was carried out by introducing sulfonamide moiety through condensation with curcumin. All synthesized dyes were fully elucidated their structures via spectroscopic and analytical methods. All of these dyes were applied on silk fabrics and examined their fastness to perspiration, washing, rubbing, sublimation and light synchronizing their pharmacological activities were evaluated.
