  Abstract

The performance of unidirectional moisture conductivity is affected by the structure of the selected yarn. A weftknitted fabric with unidirectional moisture conductivity was produced on Mach2X 153 computerized flat knitting machine using water blocking yarn and polypropylene fiber with special structure as raw materials. The moisture conductivity of the selected yarn, the unidirectional moisture conductivity and air permeability of the fabric were tested. The results show that the inner polypropylene yarn is hydrophobic and has obvious moisture diffusion effect, while the outer polypropylene yarn is hydrophilic and has obvious moisture control effect. The results also can provide a new inspiration for us to control moisture absorption by using different yarn structures and properties when producing unidirectional moisture conducting fabrics.
