  Abstract

Herein, we have studied the electrophysical and optical properties of “Kamolot-79” cotton fibers (CF) processed in γ-60Co radiation source at different doses of doped with iodine. This work was carried out in the temperature range of 300–360 K and in the voltage range of 0–150 V. The structure of the sample was studied using the infrared spectroscopy method. The temperature dependence of the photoconductivity, the electrical conductivity and the photoluminescence spectrum of cotton fiber doped with iodine was studied. It was confirmed that the current flowing in all the samples obeys Ohm’s law. According to the studies, it was shown that the photoconductivity of the iodine-doped “Kamolot-79” grade cotton fibers under the influence of ultraviolet light is mainly due to the formation of inter-band electron–hole pairs.
