  Abstract

Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) were prepared using functional monomers such as 2-carboxyethyl acrylate (β-CEA) and acrylic acid (AA) to control the degree of crosslinking. Acrylic PSAs with different glass transition temperatures (Tg) were prepared using an acrylate monomer with a low Tg. Acrylic PSAs with different weight-average molecular weights (Mw) were also prepared using isopropyl alcohol (IPA). The physical properties (peel strength, tack, shear strength) of the adhesive tapes were found to be dependent on the molecular weight, degree of crosslinking, and Tg of the acrylic PSA.
