  Abstract

The objective of this study was to develop photonic neoprene textiles with a temperature sensor and button signal used for emergencies. To prepare the photonic neoprene textiles system, a temperature sensor, button, LED strip, battery, and circuit were prepared. The textile materials used in this system included nylon knit and neoprene. Using Arduino software to program the system, four ranges of ambient temperature were established, each corresponding to a different colored LED. In addition, the LED signal was programmed to illuminate via the button signal to inform of an emergency. The resultant photonic neoprene textile system measured the visibility using a luminance test. In the case of the button signal-photonic neoprene textile system, the red-green-blue LED illuminated within a luminescence range of 0.1−14 lx. In the case of temperature sensor-photonic neoprene textile system, the emission performance was measured by controlling the temperature in the atmospheric and water environment. In the first temperature range (<5.5℃), the red light illuminated within a range of 0.1−4 lx. In the second temperature range (5.5−11℃), the yellow light illuminated within a range of 0.1−30 lx. In the third temperature range (11−17℃), the green light illuminated within a range of 0.1−5 lx. Lastly, in the fourth temperature range (>17 ℃), the blue light illuminated within a range of 0.1−1 lx.
