  Abstract

In hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry, air filters for air conditioning can be classified into prefilters, medium filters, and HEPA filters. Pocket filters belong to the medium filter category. They are neutrality filters that improve oom cleanliness by removing fine dust by receiving pre-processed air from a pre-filter. HEPA filters are high-efficiency filters, having a collection efficiency of 99.97% or more for 0.3 μm sized particles. The purpose of this study was to develop a filtration material with medium filter performance for medical facility air conditioning by conducting an electrostatic treatment experiment by hydrocharge on meltblown filter media. In this study, the optimum conditions in the pilot production line were 150 mm for charging distance, 600 g/min for the amount of charging liquid, 1.37 mm H2O for the intake resistance, and 89.18% for the filtration efficiency in the case of DCD 30 cm. Our results show that the filtration efficiency is above 80−85% when the intake resistance was 17 mm H2O at the 12−13 class. Thus, the optimization can be used as a filter medium for medical facility air conditioning.
