  Abstract

This paper intends to study the characteristics of hybrid film fabrics composed of a 5–20μm bio-polyurethane layer and an ePTFE layer in low-temperature conditions. Bio-polyurethane resin was coated on the ePTFE fabric using direct coating methods. The water pressure properties increased with increasing polyurethane layer thickness, while water vapor permeability decreased. In comparison with ePTFE laminated fabric, hybrid film laminated fabrics are effective in enhancing mechanical properties (tensile strength, tear strength) and heat retention. In addition, the decrease in overall properties with respect to the flex resistance under low temperature was offset by the coated biopolyurethane layer.
