Abstract
PVDF is used in various fields owing to its excellent mechanical and hydrophobic
properties and its chemical resistance to corrosive chemicals such as acids, bases, and
halides. A PVDF with a β-type crystal structure can exhibit both piezoelectric and ferroelectric
characteristics. Thus, it can be used in a variety of electrical and electronic devices. In
this study, we employed electrospinning using PVDF and metal oxides to manufacture β-
type PVDF nanofibers. We also analyzed the crystalline structure of PVDF nanofibers with
metal oxides. During the electrospinning, the crystalline structure of PVDF partially transformed
from type α to type β. We confirmed that the transition value of PVDF crystalline
structure from type α to type β scaled with the amount of BaO3Ti during the manufacture
of PVDF nanofibers with BaO3Ti.
