  Abstract

The flexibility of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) was measured according to the plasticizer content. The films were prepared uniformly by adding bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate and bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate as the plasticizers to the SBS resin. The morphologies of the SBS films with respect to the plasticizer content were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The mechanical properties, such as, the tensile properties and the shore hardness (A type) were tested. The results showed that the properties changed according to the plasticizer content. The thermal properties analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) showed that the higher the plasticizer content, the lower the Tg point.
