  Abstract

A three-dimensional model of a warp-knitted mesh with Atlas structure and Tuch structure using metal wire and a modeling process were developed to examine the metallic mesh fabrics. For geometric modeling of 3D mesh fabric, the following process was performed. First, the methodology of loop geometry modeling was presented for mesh modeling, and after producing fabric specimens, tomographic images were acquired through μ-CT and three-dimensional model data in voxel format was constructed through image stacking. Then, a unit cell was set in the generated voxel model and control points were extracted to determine the yarn path. Finally, the coordinates of the control points were used to construct a three-dimensional model of the metallic meshes using a Python script and TexGen software.
