Description: This workshop introduces the eddy covariance methodology for measuring gas fluxes at the ecosystem-atmosphere interface. Eddy Covariance and instrument theory will be covered through the morning session. In the afternoon sessions, discussion covers applications, experimental design, and installation & deployment. Day two will start with data monitoring and system maintenance. Subsequent topics will cover data management, the processing of fluxes, and the post-processing analysis. The morning session and course will conclude with discussion of supplemental biological measurements.
Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop to use during this session. Example data sets will be provided for the exercise, but participants are welcome to bring their own data to work with.
