Dear members of The Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS) and participants of the KICS Summer Conference,
It is already close to the middle of the year. As we slowly move ahead towards the ordinary life, with the long and tiresome COVID-19 pandemic behind, the KICS Summer Conference, the biggest event of the Korea Institute of Communications and Information Sciences will be held in June, in the Jeju Island. The event will be on/off hybrid since we are not fully freed from COVID-19, but we are happy to be able to provide offline meetings with a much lighter mind than in previous years. Moreover, this year, we make a historic record of the conference, that is, to have about 1000 paper submissions/presentations.
This event is undoubtedly the largest academic conference in the field of information and communication in Korea.
The keynote speech by the president Her from the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, Special lectures by Prof. Tomoaki Ohtsuki and Prof. Rui Zhang are prepared along with various invited lectures, oral/poster presentations, and special sessions being prepared. Moreover, the industrial special session where the latest industrial R&D trends are given, 6 tutorials, special talks by IITP Program Managers will be another interesting programs that we have prepared. The Jeju Grand Hyatt Hotel, which is the conference venue, seems to be a perfect place for participants to comfortably enjoy offline events and relaxation. It is expected that many professionals in related fields will be able to exchange ideas and collaborate through the three-day event.
Lastly, we would like to thank the organizing committees, KICS members, KICS office staffs for the generous support. We would like to ask many of you to participate online/offline, and wish everyone good health and well-being.
