Artificial Intelligence (AI) has already penetrated every corner of our economy and society, and deeply into our lives. Our future generations must know and use AI to enhance their job skills. As a strong automation technology, AI will also destroy existing jobs. However, it also creates many new jobs. As we learned from the history, the change in technology has created many new and better jobs. However, a lot of effort is required to create and adapt to new jobs. Innovation must continue and labor forces must be educated to adapt to new industrial environments. In the age of AI, digital capabilities must strengthen for all level of labor forces. Students know that our economy and society require people who know computing and AI, and they want to learn the new skills. It might be a big challenge for many educational institutions because computing fields are evolving fast. Many of them may need reforming current academic structure.
As the president of JEI University, President Jin Hyung Kim is transforming the university to be ready for AI era. He was the founding CEO of Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (AIRI). Before joining AIRI, he was the president of Software Policy Research Institute under Korean Ministry of Science and ICT. He also served as the chairman of Open Data Strategy Council, Korea.
As a member of the faculty at KAIST from 1985 to 2014, he has taught artificial intelligence, pattern recognition and neural network, while serving as the department head and the director of Center for Artificial Intelligence Research. On leave from KAIST, he served as the president of Korea Institute for Science and Technology Information and worked at IBM Watson Research Center and Samsung as a visiting scholar. Before joining the faculty of KAIST Computer Science Department, he worked at KIST and Hughes Research Laboratories. He received a BS in engineering from Seoul National University, MS and PhD in computer science at UCLA.
He is a fellow of IAPR, KAST, NAEK. He was a president of Korean Institute for Information Science and Engineering. He received Industrial Medal, the order of service merit, Internet Award from Korean Government.
- "Wi-Fi unleashed: Wi-Fi 7, 6 GHz, and beyond"

In this tutorial, our primary goal is to identify and describe the main PHY and MAC elements that will shape Wi-Fi 7, which will operate in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. For each of the main features, including key PHY enhancements, multi-link operation (MLO), enhanced quality of service (QoS) management, and multiple access point (Multi-AP) coordination, we discuss how Wi-Fi 7 is designing the corresponding enabling mechanism and present performance results as appropriate. We will also talk about how Wi-Fi is extended to the 6 GHz band (e.g., Wi-Fi 6E), a spectrum that is being made available globally for unlicensed operation.
Dr. Carlos Cordeiro is a wireless CTO at Intel Corporation, where he is responsible for next generation wireless connectivity technology strategy, standards, ecosystem engagements, and regulatory. In the Wi-Fi Alliance, he is a member of the Board of Directors and serves as its Technical Advisor. Due to his contributions to wireless communications, Dr. Cordeiro received several awards including the prestigious Intel Inventor of the Year Award in 2016, the 2017 IEEE Standards Medallion, the IEEE Outstanding Engineer Award in 2011, and the IEEE New Face of Engineering Award in 2007. Dr. Cordeiro is the co-author of two textbooks on wireless published in 2006 and 2011, has published over 110 papers in the wireless area alone, and holds over 250 patents. He is the associate editor-in-chief of the IEEE Communications Standards Magazine, and has served as Editor of various journals including the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, the IEEE Wireless Communication Letters and the ACM Mobile Computing and Communications Review. He has also served in the leadership and technical program committee of numerous conferences. Dr. Cordeiro is an IEEE Fellow.
