  Abstract

In this study, cellulose acetate (CA)/poly-(款-glutamic acid) (款-PGA)/TiO2 fibrous membrane were prepared by electrospinning. The wettability of the fibrous membrane was studied by using water contact angle measurements. Scanning electron and thermogravimetric analyses were carried out to determine the microstructure of the fibers and the thermal stability of the membrane. A study was conducted on the corn seedlings grew of the CA/款-PGA/TiO2 fibrous membranebased agricultural film in soil at room temperature. Maize plant height, leaf area and SPAD (Soil and plant analyzer development) were investigated when covered with a CA/款-PGA fibrous membrane and a CA/款-PGA/TiO2 fibrous membrane. In a simultaneous fashion, water absorption and degradation rate were also studied. Our study highlights the potential use of these fibrous membranes for mulching film applications. The fibrous membrane may also find potential application in food packing materials, facial masks and antimicrobial films of wound dressing.
