  Abstract

In this study, the effects of perfluoro acrylate on the polymerization characteristics and thermal stability starting from a main-monomer, either n-butyl acrylate or cyclohexyl acrylate, and a co-monomer, either perfluoro acrylate or n-octyl acrylate, were studied. During polymerization process, an initiator, such as potassium persulfate (KPS), AIBN, perfluoro acrylate (TBPB) was used to compare individual polymerization efficiency. Polymerization characteristics were evaluated by measuring the average molecular weight and PDI value for co-polymers prepared. In addition, the thermal stability of the copolymers was analyzed using by a Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) and a Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA), respectively.
