  Abstract

Waterless dyeing for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) filament in different technical dyeing systems have been extensively studied over the past decades. In the present work, waterless dyeing for PET was investigated in vacuum/theral dyeing system. The influence of vacuum, thermal temperature, heating time on dyeing diffusion, ΔL* and ΔE in vacuum/ theral dyeing system were investigated. We observed that waterless dyeing for PET SDY 70/24 with 200 oC thermal temperature and heating time 105 minutes show the best black color dyeability. We also confirmed that hole density effected lower ΔL* and higher ΔE than hole size.
