  Abstract

This study aims to fabricate a texture actuator with shape memory alloys for smart wearable wrist guards using stitching and knitting processes. To manufacture a textile actuator, shape memory alloys with diameters of 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 mm were considered, and a sewing machine and weaver were used. Measurements were performed using utm, and an analysis was conducted. The wearability value is obtained by subtracting the value obtained by the textile actuator from the value obtained by the general wrist protector before the initiation of electrical operation, and the support force is obtained by subtracting the value obtained by the general wrist protector from the value obtained by the textile actuator after the completion of electrical operation. As a result, the shape memory alloy with a diameter of 0.5 mm in the stitching process is best suited for textile actuators for smart wearable wrist guards.
