Abstract

The log file of the drone is an important indicator for solving various problems such as forensic investigation, tuning, errors, and malfunctions. Damage to such indicators can cause various problems such as financial, technical, and leakage. Unencrypted logs are more sensitive to leakage because anyone can perform forensics and trace back the user. Therefore, log file security is essential. The drone's log file is data that is processed and recorded through FC for information such as sensor and controller signals and GPS for the operation of the drone. In this paper, we analyze the log file creation process of PX4 and the existing encryption. Existing log-related papers mainly aim to prevent theft in advance, but this paper assumes a theft scenario, creates an encryption scenario, and encrypts the log file, which is an advantage in that it can protect data when actual theft occurs. For the study, we use PX4, an open source program used in the drone FC Pixhawk, and transplant the CTR mode of the block cipher and compare the efficiency. Finally, we compare the advantages and disadvantages of the algorithm applied to the encryption scenario.
